What is brass and how well tolerated is it as a jewelry material?

Brass is an alloy of zinc and copper, making it a very well-tolerated jewelry material for most people. Returns due to this issue are very rare.

However, since intolerances can never be completely ruled out, you can easily return your jewelry within 28 days of receiving the goods.

I would also be happy to advise you on alternative ear hooks, such as those made of sterling silver or gold-filled material. Simply send me a message via the contact form, unless the option is already available in the product.
How long does brass jewelry last?

Brass jewelry is made of raw brass—it has not been coated with other metals (e.g. gold or silver) and it is not a coating or plating that can wear off. If you do not have a sensitivity to base metals, brass jewelry is a great option that lasts as long as precious metals without breaking the bank.

In general, moisture and/or oxygen are the causes of metal tarnishing. I, therefore, recommend not storing jewelry in the bathroom and taking it off before strenuous sports activities, showering, applying moisturizer/hair spray, etc.

How do I care for brass jewelry?

Over time, brass develops a typical patina, which is completely normal and can be intensified by contact with perfume, cream, and sweat.

You can always restore the shine to your jewelry. Your piece of jewelry does not have a thin applied gold layer but is made entirely of brass, so you don't have to worry about rubbing anything off.

I like to use a simple metal polish when I want them to shine like new again.

To freshen it up, it's also enough to bathe your piece of jewelry in lemon juice or vinegar for half a minute. Afterward, wash everything thoroughly with clear water and dish soap and dry it thoroughly. This way, you will enjoy your jewelry for a very long time.

How are the pieces of jewelry made?

All the jewelry you find in my shop is handmade by me in my studio.

Apart from beads and clasps, I make all the elements of my earrings from wire and sheet metal. This means I don't use pre-made molds, but cut, hammer, saw, file, and polish all parts by hand.

This also means that every shape has small differences and every texture turns out a little differently.
You will receive a product that you won't find anywhere else.

Whenever possible, I also like to use repurposed beads from flea market and junk finds to give old jewelry a new life. Corresponding notes can be found in the product details.
