How are the earrings made?

All the earrings you find in my shop are handmade by me in my studio.

I make all the elements of my simple brass earrings from wire and brass sheets. This means I don't use prefabricated shapes, but instead cut, hammer, saw, file, and polish all parts by hand.

This also means that every shape will show small differences, and every texture I manually emboss with a hammer will turn out a little differently.

You will receive a product that you won't find anywhere else.
How do I care for plain brass earrings?

Brass earrings develop a typical patina over time. This is completely normal and can be accelerated by contact with perfume, cream, and sweat.

However, you can always make your piece of jewelry shine again. Your jewelry does not have a thin applied gold layer, but is made entirely of brass, so you don't have to worry about polishing anything off.

I like to use a simple metal polish if they are to shine like new again.

To refresh them, it is also sufficient to soak your piece of jewelry in lemon juice or vinegar for half a minute. Afterwards, wash everything thoroughly with clear water and dish soap and dry it thoroughly. This way you will enjoy your jewelry for a very long time.
How long does brass jewelry last?

Brass jewelry is made of raw brass – it has not been coated with other metals (e.g. gold or silver), nor is it a coating or plating that can wear off.
If you do not have a sensitivity to base metals, brass jewelry is a great option that will last as long as precious metals without breaking your budget. In general, moisture and/or oxygen are the causes of metal tarnishing. I therefore recommend not storing jewelry in the bathroom and removing it before strenuous sports activities, showering, applying moisturizer/hairspray, etc.

How heavy are the earrings?

If you want to give jewelry as a gift, it's not always an easy task. It's best to first ask yourself whether the person receiving the gift prefers a striking style or perhaps prefers a minimalist look, and then choose a larger or smaller model accordingly.

Does the person prefer a classic style? Then you're on the safe side with my simple brass earrings or freshwater pearl earrings.
